It happens to all of us

by Danielle | October 9, 2009

So my Loppem sweater is finally dry.

It’s not exactly as planned. It is a tad “large” or “huge” or “enormous.” Luckily it fits this person:

Loppem

Doesn’t it look amazing?! All it took was an upgrade of at least three cup sizes and the sweater is perfect.  Since I don’t want to undergo surgery for a sweater and I can’t bring myself to knit another one AND this person happens to be a very close friend, this sweater will now be her Christmas gift. Problem solved!

Oh it looks great on her. I am curious which size you made and why it got larger so that I can make it in the future.

I made the second size (for 34″ chest). I think perhaps the problem might be my gauge. I *might* have been a tad off. I *might* have ignored this…or maybe I didn’t do a swatch. I was getting 16 per 4 and it calls for 18.

    hmm…yeah. that is probably it.

I made the smallest size of the Loppem, with correct gauge, and mine turned out way too large as well. Very cute though!
