First, an update on class cancelations:
Beginner knitting with Tanis Gray this evening is canceled. Your class will meet next week at the regular time and then on the following Wednesday, February 24th.
Beginner Socks with Veronica – this class has also been canceled and will not start until next Wednesday. The class will then continue for one additional week, ending on March 10th.
Kirby and I came in together this morning. He rode in my backpack this time. Poor Kirby. His little paws aren’t built for snow.

The Hard Times horse is still cold. There were some folks out front shoveling which makes me think that they are planning to open today. This is pretty exciting because despite the fact that I brought food with me today, I might wander down there for some chili mac. I brought in cabbage and noodles, something that is perfectly suited for a snowy day and a great way to re energize after a long hard walk in…but the chili calls me. Maybe its the MEAT part of the chili that calls me.

I shoveled at 9:30 pm last night and this was the scene when I walked up this morning:

A nice neighbor helped me clear the snow and ice off of our awning so that we didn’t lose our almost brand new awning.
Kirby and I are here for the day but plan to leave at 5pm. We are mostly catching up on paperwork and enjoying the sight of the blowing wind and the occasional car that goes by (or gets stuck).
Please don’t head out today. Its pretty ugly out there.
UPDATE:
I don’t believe it. Either someone just broke into Five Guys or the manager actually showed up to open the place today!

1. I cannot decide whether you are admirable or insane for coming to work in The Blizzard.
2. Either way, you certainly deserve The Meat Chili.
3. If someone broke into the Five Guys, go over there and insist on them making you some fries.
4. Stay warm in there.

The “open” sign is on so i assume that it is a manager and not a burglar.
And to address number 1 above, yes, I am insane.

I just hope ONE intrepid knitter darkens your door today, to prove what a hearty breed we are and how we’re better than USPS. Hey, if I needed something, I’d be the one to do it, but I don’t. For this my husband is eternally grateful.

Maybe the Five Guys manager saw your post about angry meat lovers on Saturday and decided that opening would be a good idea. Stay warm and safe.

Not only does the Hard Time horse need some legwarmers but Kirby needs a hat like his mommy’s!

Danielle, Thanks for the update and fabulous picture of you and Kirby. BTW Kirby does not look happy. I guess it was too cold for him to be out.
Thank god that 5 guys opened you may have more people on your street now and I’m sure they will also visit your shop. And you won;t have to go too far to get meat.
Hope we get to plow out by Monday so we can come to your store and see the Wendy trunk show.

I love that you were one of the crazy people on the news with your doggy a few minutes ago
Hooray for your dedication (and insanity)!

Saw you on the news tonight on Channel 4. My dogs are jealous. They want to be carried around in a backpack.

I saw you on channel 4 news last night (11 p.m., I think) talking to the reporter with Kirby in your backpack. I loved how you managed to tell us viewers about Fibrespace and knitters. You looked great.

Danielle, I caught your interview with a TV reporter the other night, complete with Kirby in the backpack! If you have to work in this weather, how nice that you can actually walk there! Also, kudos to the Five Guys for providing protein.
