Nemo is an Italian Greyhound “foster” dog. “Foster” is a word that means that he is going to go live with someone else after we have potty trained him, gotten him all of his necessary vet work and trained him to “sit,” among other things. I am fairly certain that Nemo is no longer a “foster” dog. We are a foster home failure. Nemo was an owner surrender at a pound in West Virginia. Our IG rescue got ahold of him, and he was flown from there to Staunton VA by one of our volunteers. Then my husband and I drove there to get him and bring him back to Alexandria. On Monday he was neutered. (He is THREE, so clearly his former parents weren’t paying much attention to his needs). He also has some fairly serious teeth issues, like all of our IGs. He is incredibly sweet.
***Yes, Cindy, the dog is on the chair. I know he is not allowed on the chair but for the purposes of this photo shoot, he is on the chair.
Anyway, Nemo needs a sweater. I can’t decide which color. This is Neighborhood Fiber Co Studio Worsted, of course…because you know, I need a fifth or sixth sweater out of this stuff. It just holds up so well that it makes sense for a dog sweater (if making a hand dye dog sweater makes sense.) So anyway, this is Rock Creek Park (the green), Palisades (navy blue), and Old Towne East (bright blue). Thoughts?

Aw, he’s a sweetie! I like the Rock Creek Park for his sweater. That green bounces off the fawn color in his coat very nicely.
Good luck with him, and congrats

I vote for the Rock Creek Park as well. I had a dark-brindle greyhound (he was 14, 5 years ago when I had to let him go to the big bed in the sky) and wish I would have been able to knit him a sweater. Nemo looks much to comfy in that chair. Bless you for rescuing him!

It doesn’t show up as brightly as in person, but I vote for Old Town East, of course. Plus, Nemo clearly pushed away Rock Creek Park when I asked him his opinion!

I think the navy makes his coat look brighter…but I will bow to the will of the majority.

I vote for the Old Town East. The green doesn’t do anything good for his complexion, and the navy is too dark for a boy with such bright eyes.

Nemo needs Rock Creek Park to remind us all that while snow may be in the forecast – spring and green grass will (hopefully) soon follow. I see he’s made himself right at “home”!

I’m voting for Old Towne East. He is absolutely adorable and lucky to have you as a foster family or for longer…

I like the bright blue too (Old Towne East). How heroic of you to take care of Nemo. He looks like such a sweetie.

I’m a foster fail too! I volunteered with a local Lab Rescue group for about a year and one Saturday while doing a transport a dog needed a place to stay for the weekend…well, one weekend turned into 2+ years! Sometimes life failures can be the best things in our lives.

I’m not sure that those are the right colors to be chosing from. Clearly, he is going to be sitting in the chair (a lot!), so his sweater should coordinate with the chair – isn’t there a nice orangey-red in the NFC line up?

Yay for finding Nemo, he is super cute! Naturally he will look amazing in any color, but I think I pick the old town east as my choice for him. Congrats on your new addition to the family.
