Kelbourne Woolens Volume 1 New Arrival, Knitalong and Giveaway!
We are very excited about the Kelbourne Woolens Vol. 1 book that is arriving at the shop this week! It is a wonderful collection that puts all of their most popular patterns into one place and provides lots of inspiration for those who are also Fibre Co yarn addicts! I was delighted to be asked to be part of the Kelbourne Woolens Volume One Blog Tour. As part of the tour, I was asked to pick out my favorite item from the book and show what I might pair it with. How exciting! (Also an excuse to use Polyvore).
I chose the Alice Cowl from the collection because I love how versatile it is! The right color would work for spring and fall outfits! I chose to style it in two ways – spring dresses and a skinny pant with tunic. I love pops of color so I used bright yellows and blues (and some accessories from my favorite indie designer, Orla Kiely)!
How would you style this cowl? What shade of Road to China would you make your Alice Cowl with? Leave a comment on this post and be entered to win a copy of the book! And then be sure to jump on over to Hannah Fettig at Knitbot for the next stop on the tour!
Join the knitalong and win free yarn!
If you want to make your own Alice, grab the pattern here or pick up a copy of the book this weekend from our shop. The cowl takes 2, 3 or 5 skeins, depending on the size that you want to make. I am going to cast on this weekend. Care to join me? As a bit of incentive, I am going to throw in the yarn for one of the projects in the book as a prize to the lucky winner.
Here is the color that I am thinking of using:
How do you enter?
Complete the Alice Cowl in a Fibre Co yarn (either Road to China Light or Canopy Fingering will work wonderfully…in fact you could also use a DK weight yarn such as Savannah or Acadia for a larger gauge cowl). Cowls must be completed by Monday, March 11th at midnight. Post your project over in our Ravelry forum, send us an email or stop by the store. One lucky winner will get the yarn (in their choice of color) to complete another project from this fab book!

I am so glad to see the patterns combined into a single book! Can’t wait to see it.
I’ve got my eye on this book. Great designs. Rav amchart
Would love to win this!
Pick me, pick me! : )
I might like to knit it in Road to China Smokey Quartz. That makes it a bit more of a fall/winter cowl which is OK since 90 degrees and above in the summer in St. Louis makes it more of a shorts and swimsuit weather. I could wear it with jeans and a nice turtleneck or dress up my black winter coat.
I love your styling ideas with the cowl. I think I might like to knit it in Rhodolite. What a fabulous color!
Oooh, I’ve been looking for something to use my Acadia with for a long time; this might be really beautiful in the douglas fir colorway. Hope 2 skeins will be enough!
What a great collection. I would love to win a copy!
I think I’d love to knit that cowl in a nice, deep gray.
I love these colourful outfits.
Great patterns! I’d knit the cowl in Grey Pearl – there are so many great colors, but that soft silver really grabs me!
What fun plans for the KAL and the contest!
I would love to win this book. Please pick me.
I love the Alice cowl too.I would love the book.rinebird. On Ravelry

I’m loving the fuchsia color. Is it plum jasper?
I love your choice of pattern and styling! This might be the kind of project to get me to try the Fiber Co yarns. I’d love a chance to win! A grey would be my color choice. I’ve downloaded the pattern and will be in to pick out a yarn this weekend!
I love Orla Kiely, too! And Kelbourne Woolens is awesome.
I would wear that cowl with everything. I just had a colleague tell me that a friend and I are always impeccably dressed. We told her the secret was a well-coordinated scarf instantly makes you look more put-together.
love the cowl and the color! Polyvore is a great inspiration tool…having fun visiting all these blogs on the book tour!!
Beautiful cowl! How awesome . . . would love to make that and would love to win the book also!!

Looks like a very nice book. I would love to bring it home. Thanks for the opportunity!
I love both of your outfit pairings! I’m going to have to hunt down that teal tote!
I love Kelbourne Woolens patterns, and the new book looks wonderful. I just finished a Springtime Bandit in grey, but the new project photos make me want another in the deep pink!
I would make the Alice Cowl in Malachite, or maybe Garnet, or Abalone, or Peridot……might have to make more than one! Thanks for highlighting the book — looks great!
I love this cowl! I’m going to look at colors now……
What a fabulous choice! I am very interested in this pattern, but we don’t have much selection here in Belgian stores for 5 ply. I am looking for a bright spring green or fuschia pink or coral/soft orange color. Are there yarns you can recommend buying from an online store? Would love to do this knit along
Kelbourne book looks amazing!!! Thanks for the chance to win.
Love the Hawthorne.
Thanks everyone for your comments! The lucky winner of the random drawing is Deb F.
