Everyone wants a sweater that’s perfect for them. In this class, we make it happen. Students bring in a (large) swatch of the finished fabric they’d like for their sweater, their style preferences, and a filled-out measurement sheet (either from a Knit to Flatter workshop or one that they’ve filled out). We step through design choices and measuring the brought swatch and create a custom, perfectly-fitting, perfectly flattering sweater pattern for each student.
Adventurous knitters of all skill levels. The complexity of the sweater is up to the students, so only knitting/purling, increasing, and decreasing are required skills. (Though familiarity with patterns is a plus.) This would be an appropriate first-sweater class.
It is crucial that all students bring in a large (6’’ x 6’’ at least), blocked swatch that is the fabric they’d like their sweater to be made from. We cannot make them a sweater without this.
Fill out measurement sheet and bring, swatch until you’ve got a fabric you like. Block the swatch, and bring it in. Optional: Bring in needles and yarn, to cast on at the end of class!
