Join the authors of Vintage Modern Knits, Kate Gagnon Osborn and Courtney Kelley, for a three hour workshop on Bohus knitting. Bohus knitting is a great way to change up your traditional Fair Isle items. Involving the use of purl stitches in combination with 2-color knitting it can create either a pop of color, or it can mute colors depending on how they are used. Using the Baltic Beret as a sample students will learn to use this technique to the best advantage and how to design their own Bohus inspired knitting.
About Bohus Knitting
Bohus knitting was created in Sweden in the 1939 by the Swedish knitting cooperative Bohus Stickning. The cooperative was created to provide extra income for families suffering during the Depression. The Cooperative produced garments in this distinct style and marketed them to wealthy families and department stores, eventually becoming highly sought after collector’s items.
